ERL to stop at LCCT! PDF Print E-mail

Have just heard news that KLIA is planning for the ERL to stop at Air Asia's Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) on its way to KLIA. That's another nice way to get to the LCCT, besides taking the RM9 SkyBus! :)

If this is the case, I wonder if this LCCT Terminal station would be included within the KLIA Transit service, to make it:

KL Sentral <> Bandar Tasik Selatan <> Putrajaya/Cyberjaya <> Salak Tinggi <> LCCT <> KLIA ??

Do verify or deny this news if you know anything...

Erm, how many people taking RM50-ish flights would be willing to fork out RM35 for a 45 minute train ride? (Especially when the Skybus and competitors frequency is so much more higher, you end up saving.... 30 minutes? 45 minutes? So you could wait longer at LCCT?) Plus, the savings in time would be slightly shorter if KLIA Transit, rather than Express, is used...

Perhaps instead KLIA should consider investing in a people-mover or KTMB investing in a branch of its Rawang-Seremban line.

actually, i wonder how much they will price it? to be honest, i'm not even sure where exactly the LCCT is in relation to KLIA, whether it's north, south, east or west... i'd guess that's it's cheaper than rm35 lah, but how much cheaper..??? And the train ride's 35 minutes to KLIA on the KLIA Transit, 28 minutes on the Express... I agree that the bus option is very competitive now though, what with RM10 buses to KLIA and RM9 Skybus to LCCT.

The 45 minutes includes a rough estimate of roughly how long you have to wait for the train (30 minutes frequency if I'm not mistaken). The bus frequency is much higher - at peak, I think the longest you would have to wait is... 10 minutes? 15 minutes?

But if the train ticket would be cheaper - how much cheaper? KLIA Transit to Putrajaya is already 5-something, takkan the fare would be competitive. If it is... I would imagine a lot of cheapskates would take ERL to LCCT and take a taxi to the main terminal.

Wait, to take ERL from KL Sentral to Salak Tinggi is RM12.50. I would imagine it would be far more expensive for LCCT.
anchovy - ERL to LCCT? Waste of $$$.. Registered | 2008-07-31 00:12:42
I wonder why they want to make extension of ERL to LCCT. LCCT building is a temporary warehouse hangar that has been build without proper planning. Political disruption. Please look into KLIA masterplan. What a shame 50 years back LCC-Terminal within KLIA area. javascript:emoticon("")
